The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery is an indispensable resource for surgeons for over 70 years.

Under the leadership of Andrew Wechsler, MD, The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery presents readers with original, peer-reviewed articles that address topics in: surgery for congenital and acquired heart disease, cardiopulmonary bypass, myocardial management and support techniques, cardiac and pulmonary replacement, general thoracic surgery, ethics and managed care. Readers have access to the latest information on immunosuppressive and antibiotic drugs, bioengineering approaches, and video-assisted techniques, as well as innovative approaches to thoracic surgical problems. Controversial articles are often followed by expert commentary, allowing readers to benefit from the knowledge and insight of leaders in the field.

Selected papers from the annual meetings of the sponsoring societies appear each year. The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery is required reading for all physicians in training programs leading to certification in the specialty of thoracic surgery. All cardiothoracic surgery residents, as well as their program directors, have paid subscriptions through an educational grant.
